- Q: How do I establish an online account?
- A: Click the yellow button Sign In/Up or click on "Create an Account" at top of page and follow the instructions. Fill out the form completely. It is recommended that you add all your family members at this time.
- Q: How many accounts should a family have?
- A: We recommend that each family establish one account. Create the account in the name of one adult family member and then choose at the bottom of the form "Create Account and Add Family Member" to add all your other family members and their information.
- Q: How do I add additional members of my household to my account?
- A: If you did not include all members of your household during the original account opening you may log into your online profile. Under "Manage Family Member" and click "Add Family Member." Follow the prompts to add your family member.
- Q: What do I need to provide proof of Westport residency?
- A: There are a few ways to prove residency...
Any one of the following:
*Being a residential property owner(if a new resident you must show deed or some portion of closing papers) *Being a full time Town of Westport Employee(or retired and receiving full benefits)
If none of the above list are applicable then a minimum of 3 of the items below may be required as proof of residency:
Resident name and Westport address must be the same on all documentation
*Valid Driver's License showing your Westport address
*Vehicle Registration showing your Westport address
*Residential lease in applicant's name for a minimum of one year
AND one of the following:
Utility bill, credit card statement, bank Statement.
All must show the Westport address in the applicant's name.
- Q: What if I forget my security question?
- A: If you forgot your security question that you created when you requested your account, log into your online profile and under the heading "Password and Security Information" and then you will be able to view your security question and make changes if you wish.
- Q: What if I forgot my login name?
- A: If you forgot your login name please contact Parks and Recreation via email at recreation@westportct.gov or (203)341-5152. We will be able to provide you with your login name.
- Q: What if I forgot my password?
- A: If you forgot your password you must enter your login name and click "forgot password." You will be prompted to provide an email to which a temporary password will be sent.Please use the new password information and login to your Westport Parks & Recreation account. You will be required to change your password on your account.
- Q: How do you define a Senior?
- A: A Senior is defined as a person 62 years old and over.
- Q: How do you define an Adult?
- A: An Adult is defined as a person 18 - 61 years old.
- Q: How do you define a Junior?
- A: A Junior is defined as a person 6 - 17 years old.
- Q: What is a Basic Handpass used for?
- A: A Basic Handpass for access to LS/Staples pool & a reduced court fee at LS tennis (does not include Longshore Golf Course)
- Q: What is an All Racquets Pass?
- A: All privileges of a Basic Handpass plus waiver of all tennis, pickleball & platform court fees. (Excludes Longshore Golf Course.)
- Q: What is a Basic Handpass?
- A: A basic handpass is for access to LS/Staples pool & a reduced court fee at LS tennis (does not include Longshore Golf Course)
- Q: What is a Deluxe Combo Handpass?
- A: All privileges of Basic Handpass, plus waiver of all racquets court fees, reduced greens fees.
- Q: What is a Golf Handpass?
- A: A golf handpass includes all privileges of a basic handpass PLUS access to Longshore Golf Course at resident rates and course reservation system.
- Q: What is a Golf and Tennis Handpass?
- A: A Golf and Tennis Handpass includes all privileges of a basic handpass PLUS access to Longshore Golf Course at resident rates and course reservation system AND no court fees for tennis.
- Q: What is a Pickleball Handpass?
- A: All privileges of a Basic Handpass, plus waiver of court fees, access to court reservation system.
- Q: What is a Platform Tennis Handpass?
- A: All privileges of a Basic Handpass, plus waiver of court fees, access to court reservation system.
- Q: What is a Tennis Handpass?
- A: All privileges of Basic Handpass and waiver of all tennis court fees. (Excludes Longshore Golf Course.)
- Q: When are Vehicle Parking Emblems required?
- A: Vehicle Parking Emblems are required for vehicle entrance to all Town beaches May 1-Sept 30 and for parking within Longshore Club Park parking lots as posted.
- Q: Do I need to provide a copy of my current vehicle registration?
- A: If your vehicle has been purchased/leased within the past 12 to 18 months you will be required to provide us with a copy of your current registration. You may email a copy to recreation@westportct.gov, fax a copy to us at (203)341-5073 or stop by Westport Parks & Recreation at 260 Compo Road South, Westport CT 06880.
- Q: What happens if I already purchased an emblem but going to be replacing that vehicle?
- A: Bring in your original emblem, your new registration & $5 replacement fee and we will update the emblem.
- Q: What is a Launch Permit?
- A: A Launch Permit is required for all car-top type vessels to enter Compo Beach, Mill Pond or Longshore Marina(Kayaks etc). Vessel must be carried on or in a vehicle that has a current Westport Parks & Recreation Vehicle Parking Emblem.
- Q: What is Boat Ramp Permit?
- A: A Boat Ramp Permit is required for a trailered vessel using launch ramps at Compo Beach. The vehicle trailering the vessel is required to have a current Westport Parks & Recreation vehicle parking emblem.
- Q: What are the expiration dates of Handpasses, Vehicle Emblems, Caregiver Passes, Boat Ramp Permits and Launch Permits?
- A: All handpasses are valid for one year from date of purchase. Vehicle Parking Emblems, Caregiver Passes, Westport Summer Resident passes, Boat Ramp Permits and Launch Permits will expire on September 30th.
- Q: Can a Non-Resident register for activities?
- A: Yes, a non-resident can register for activities but must first have established a Westport Parks & Recreation online account. See "How do I establish an online account?" in our FAQs.
* Non-Resident may register for Sports Camps at any time.
* Non-Residents may register for any Instructional Programs and Day Camp Programs 10 days prior to the start date, if space is available.
* Non-Residents will be charged additional fees of $20 per child and $40 per adult per program.
- Q: Where can I view current program activities?
- A: For current program activities, please visit www.westportrecreation.com
- Q: Can I view activities without registering?
- A: Yes, you can always browse through the activites without registering. Click on the "View Activities" button to look at all the activities that are being offered.
