Description: Belly dance is low impact, strengthens the core and improves muscle tone, cardio, flexibility and body awareness. It is very beneficial for all ages, keeping you spirited, flexible and energetic. Instructor: June Minaya.
Level 2 - For intermediate level students with at least 1 year of belly dance class experience. Work on different styles of choreography including Folkloric, Traditional, Classical and Fusion.
June's bio: June T. Minaya is a local artist and dance instructor in the Mechanicsburg and New Cumberland areas. She has been teaching beginner and intermediate level belly dance classes for 4 years, and is currently the troupe director for her professional dance group: Troupe Alis Habibi and student troupe: The Flowering shimmies. She began her journey with belly dance in 2010, and over the years has come to specialize in various styles of belly dance including Folkloric/Traditional Middle Eastern dance, as well as newer forms such as theatrical/Fusion. After performing with several troupes and taking classes & workshops with master belly dance instructors, she has come to find that her focus, dedication, and joy comes out when she teaches others to dance. She especially enjoys bringing her artful visions to life through teaching her students her original choreography. June believes that belly dance helps to calm the mind, create balance, strengthen the core, and brings a very graceful sense of femininity to your regular work out routine.
