Wildflower Walk & Talk at Black Canyon of the Gunnison
Classes2021 Winter/Spring - Enrichment|#3823
Description
Discover the early blooming wildflowers of this stunning National Park located at 7500’. Ridgway writer Mary Menz and Montrose photographer Jim Pisarowicz will guide participants at several sites in the park to view the variety of plants found at this altitude. Masks and social distancing required per state guidelines in place at the time. Participants will meet at a centrally-located place in the Park. Participants are responsible for their own entry fee to the Park.
Bring cameras and nature journals to satisfy your creative outlets, too. Jim will offer photography tips on the fly and you’ll learn about the plants and animals that call this place home. Different elevations and habitats provide opportunities to view a wide variety of Colorado’s native plants and wildflowers. Register for one guided experience or all!
Registration includes a copy of their book Common Wildflowers of the San Juan Mountains (2019). Dress for variable weather conditions. More information will be provided one week prior to the event.
