Description: Students will explore the lives and styles of artists throughout the centuries and create fun projects based on a variety of art styles. Instructor Anne Hockenberry will lead students through lessons featuring a different famous artist each week followed by an art activity to practice and explore the style of that artist. This is an interactive class adapted to all middle/high students! Art is such an important way for students to develop creativity, learn new skills, practice observation and analysis skills, and have fun at the same time! No experience necessary and all materials are provided. For past students: this will be focused on learning about all new artists!
Biography:Anne is an artist in Montrose, Colorado. She specializes in creating watercolor art on cards, birds and landscape art on canvas, and her new favorite - custom pet, house, and wedding bouquet portraits. Anne has a vision for sharing the beauty in life with those around her. Anne is a self-taught artist who grew up painting and drawing and has always loved art. She worked as a teacher for 10 years, but has always developed her love of art and painting. In 2016, she opened a shop on Etsy and began pursuing art full-time. Anne moved to Montrose from Wyoming in 2018 with her husband. They enjoy hiking and biking in the beautiful western wilderness. Anne?s hope is to create art that inspires other to see the beauty in life and guide others in finding their inner artist.
