Description:
This is a combined class and will and will encompass elements for both puppy and basic/adult participants.
This class is designed as a positive and reward based Puppy Head Start Program. Your puppy will learn; focus and attention, sit, down, wait and stay, walking on a loose leash, walking through a door correctly and recall (come) to name a few. Each of the 6-week lessons will also focus on your concerns, like housebreaking, chewing and barking. This class will teach you the reasoning behind a puppy?s thought process as well as the prevention of and response to unwanted behaviors. Other essential puppy information will be provided such as dogfood, grooming and health issues. The class will teach you the best ways to train your puppy while still living your life. Beginning the socialization process during puppyhood ensures that your puppy will more likely grow to be a well adjusted and highly adaptable to other dogs, people and situations.
This class is designed to review commands and increases the difficulty of exercises by extending the time and distance for each command. At each lesson you will be able to focus on your concerns, like housebreaking, chewing and barking, pulling on the leash, to name a few. This class will teach you how to effectively train your dog while getting your dog to merge into your schedule and lifestyle. People interested in obtaining their dog's Canine Good Citizen Certification will be able to test at the end of the class.
Bring soft treats, 6? leash. No retractable/expandable leashes, no sandals without a back strap. Clean-up bags. All recommended training methods will use positive reinforcement techniques. Dog Training hand signals, voice command and a marker word will be used throughout the class along with the five basic rewards; touch, voice, loose leash, play, and treats.
