The Self Portrait with Anne Graham 10:00AM-4:00PM
Creating a self portrait is one of the most interesting and challenging forms of figurative art. Whether the likeness is absolute or just a similarity, whether detailed or very abstract, the process, though demanding, will be fun. We'll discuss technique and composition with an emphasis on color and value. (Oil and/or Pastel)
Biography:Anne is a portrait and figurative artist who has recently returned to the Philadelphia area after living and working in England for the last 40 years. She spent seven years training - first at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and continued her education in both Cambridge and London, England. She now works mainly in pastel and oil.
Her works hang in numerous homes and institutions both sides of the Atlantic - among them, Birkbeck College (Univeristy of London), SOny Studios in London's West End and Montgomery School in Pennsylvania.
In recent years Anne's extensive body of works has included 20 portraits specially commissioned by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters - one of the most prestigious and discerning organizations for portraiture in the world.
