3. WorkshopSPRING 2019|#SP19.181.S
Description
Linocut basics for hand printed imagery that explains several stages of the process. Students will learn the process of a one and two color print. One surface will be a solid color and the second will be and image.
Students will have a choice to use two color or one color. Prints are made by making a careful cut into the linoleum, rolling the ink, registering the block and hand burnishing to create your print.
We will discuss and show examples of line, shape positive and negative space, rhythm, repetition and texture. A series of prints will be made at a 6X6 size as a group we could make long panels connecting the prints which would go on display. Materials needed for the workshop are: a soft lino block, lino cutting tools, water base block printing ink, soft rubber brayers, registration boards and paper or cards that would be appropriate for making greeting cards.
