Description
Understanding Color
w/Bonnie Mettler
A twelve (12) session course
No class on 11/22
Color is knowable, but we need language so that we can think about color clearly. Color has three aspects: hue (the colors of the wheel), value (light to dark), and saturation (bright to dull). We are taught by advertising that light and bright are the same. They are not. We can have an extremely bright color that is very dark….fr example purple out of the tube. We can have a very light color that is extremely dull. We will learn to mix any color by seeing which hue it is, at which value and what saturation. Being able to mix any color is the goal. This will be a painting class with color instruction for the first hour of each class. Bring your own reference image to work from.
Come to class prepared to paint.
