Description: Learn new ways of designing, building and illustrating functional pottery with Chandra DeBuse in this 2-Day hands-on workshop. Chandra will share how she uses paper, craft foam, wood and bisqued clay to generate plates, scoops, cups, vases, and serving forms through hand building with soft clay slabs. After creating plates, scoops, cups, vases and serving forms, we will combine texture, underglaze inlay, sgraffito, stencils and brushwork to create lively surfaces with color, patterns and images on the leatherhard surface. In both practice and product, a spirit of playful discovery will be emphasized. We will use midrange white stoneware. All levels welcome.
