Description:
Imagine making a one-of-a-kind piece of sculpture for your home or garden. With guidance from professional sculptor, you can make a variety of sculptures from animals to a decorative relief sculpture or a figurative piece. Learn sculpting techniques while creating something special. Books and pictures will be supplied for inspiration or bring your own.
Class tuition includes your first bag of stoneware clay as well as glazes and firing fees for coursework completed in class. Clay is available at Wayne Art Center.
All skill levels welcome.
This is an in-studio five (6) week class from 02/23/21 - 03/30/21.
Before each class, students are required to complete a daily health screening. If a student is unable to complete the health screening, a parent or guardian must complete it for them.
Please remember that masks are mandatory, keep a minimum of 6 feet away from others, wash your hands frequently, and do not touch your face. Hand Sanitizer is only effective three or four times in a row, then proper hand washing is a must!
If you or a family member is not feeling well, please let us know, and do not attend class. We will get through this together.
Biography:Jennifer Frudakis-Petry was born in Atlantic City, N.J. in 1961 and has been a professional sculptor and art instructor for 32 years. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and has a four-year certificate as a painting major. She also studied ceramics at the university of the Arts, in Philadelphia and she studied at the Frudakis Academy with her father EvAngelos Frudakis for four years in an intensive sculpture program. Jennifer?s teaching experience for adults and children include classes at Ocean City Arts Center, Ventnor City Art Center and Atlantic Community College in New Jersey and Wayne Art Center and The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education in PA. Outdoor monuments include installations at Holy Family University, Philadelphia, PA 2000, Pop Lloyd Stadium and Stockton State University, Galloway Township, NJ in 2014. Additional sculpture commissions include installations at the new Radnor Township building in June 2018, the Young Playwrights headquarters, Philadelphia in 2017 and the Culinary Institute of America, and the Vintner Hall of Fame inductees in St Helena, California 2015.
