Description: On The Surface Explore the endless possibilities of surface decoration. Learn a variety of techniques to make exciting ceramic surfaces. We will discuss how to decorate clay by stamping, carving, slip trailing and applying texture. Learn how to achieve color and pattern using underglazing techniques that include stenciling, sgraffito and inlay. Demonstrations will also include glaze layering and wax resist techniques. This class is perfect for students of all levels of experience. Beginners are welcome! Intermediate and advanced students will have the option to use their own wheel thrown or hand built forms for decorating.
