Plein Air Demonstration w/Barbara Berry

Capturing figures in real-life settings can be quite challenging, especially when dealing with changing outdoor light conditions. See how Barbara skillfully integrates the figure with the garden, while paying close attention to how the atmosphere influences the colors of the model’s skin and clothing.

Having had a career as a classical singer in Germany, Barbara decided to return to America to raise her children. When her children began elementary school, Barbara took classes with several excellent instructors including those at the Wayne Art Center, attending art workshops with esteemed artists both locally and out of state. Barbara resides and paints in a bucolic rural area in Pennsylvania. A signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, a member of the Philadelphia Pastel Society, Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Society of the West Coast, and the International Association of Pastel Societies, Barbara has received awards at local and national juried competitions and art shows. Barbara teaches pastel painting in association with The Painter’s Alliance, The Art Center at Ambler and The Wayne Art Center.
