Description:
Take your work to the next level under the mentoring guidance of artist/critic Kassem Amoudi. In this focused open studio environment, students will work from personal subject matter to further their own visual language and interests. Kassem will add a new element in teaching this expanded class. A slide presentation will be included in the first day and as needed with focus on some masters’ techniques of color, harmony, and focal points. Students will explore space, mark making, and different ways of applying colors.
Examples from contemporary and modern art will be examined to promote a broader understanding of the abstract qualities of space, line and color in nonrepresentational as well as some representational painting. Expert instruction and advice from the instructor will push students to explore new possibilities and work more intuitively, allowing unplanned marks and passages to become artistic breakthroughs. Instructor will also meet with students one-on-one using Zoom for private critiques throughout the course. Advance beyond confined lines and hard edges to a more liberated way of painting! Open to all levels.
You will receive your Zoom access email and further instructions 48 hours prior to class start date.
