Description
Drawing 1: Shading
w/Barbara Zanelli
A twelve (12) session course
Designed for students who took Drawing 1: First Steps in the fall (although not a prerequisite), this class takes you further into basic concepts of drawing, especially shading. It is recommended for beginners and anyone who would like to learn how to draw more accurately.
Shading is an extremely satisfying, fun and beautiful aspect of drawing. Explore different shading techniques by copying masters, trying out different materials and by experimenting with shading from life.
In addition to light and shadow, we will continue to explore the other perceptual skills of drawing as outlined by Betty Edwards: edges, spaces, relationships, and gestalt. All of these make up the grammar of a drawing.
