Description: Join Artist Jesse Harrington as he demonstrates his multifaceted approach to drawing the human figure in a style reminiscent of the renaissance masters. Jesse will demonstrate the materials he uses as well as breakdown the various academic approaches he employs to draw from life while emphasizing the need for creativity and a modern sensibility.
Biography:Jesse C. Harrington is a figurative Sculptor, Carver and Draftsman. He lives and works in Birchrunville, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where his studies revolved around advancing his knowledge of the classical figurative tradition. While at the academy Jesse was the recipient of many awards including the Epstein Sculpture Prize and the Simone C. Titone Prize for excellence in drawing. He was also awarded 1st Place at the Bucks County Sculpture Showcase in 2009, Hosted by the Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art in New Hope, Pa. juried by Ellen Landis, Curator of Grounds For Sculpture. Jesse has taught Sculpture and Carving at Allens Lane Art Center and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Art. Jesse?s work seeks to bridge the gap between classical standards in art and the freedom of the modern art world. His lifelong pursuit of understanding the figure in art is a motivation and joy he seeks to impart to his students. Jesse is also a furniture artist with an emphasis on carved and hand formed functional art.
