Description
Architecture in the Landscape Workshop PART 2- ONSITE
Saturday and Sunday April 17th and 18th
In Part 2 of “Architecture in the Landscape” (ONSITE) we will continue with the idea of simplifying and editing details. Each student will work from their own references, and be given feedback how to crop and compose from these. We will continue to study formal aspects of painting- composition, value, edges, marks, and color. More complex cityscapes will be addressed- how to simplify them, how to block in a more complex motif.
Medium: oil paint, acrylic, pastel, watercolor (Instructor works in oil paint).
Level: Intermediate, and advanced. Previous painting experience required; Basic painting skills will not be covered in this class.
Materials:
- Photographs of cityscapes or of complex landscape with architectural motifs, (best if these references have clear directional light. Not flat light)
