Advanced Portrait Sculpture w/Jennifer Frudakis-Petry

This session offers to the experienced artist a unique insight into portrait sculpture from an experienced professional sculptor. The instructor will demonstrate from start to finish how to create a structural likeness by thoroughly exploring the foundational methods of planes and an exploration of human anatomy.

Working abstractly to first establish the “core” or planes of the skull and then developing the super-structure of the facial features, a life-size portrait will take shape.

This unique class offers the advanced art student a more in-depth understanding of form and design and promises to be a transformative experience to a better understanding portraiture in three dimensions.

Level: For advanced students with at least 2 years of formal art training. Sculpting experience isn't necessarily a requirement as long as you have training in drawing and know the basic fundamentals in art.
