Any professional brand (vs cheaper paints) across the board will do - in the end you will be saving money because the pigment load is higher and therefore you will need less paint to mix colors and make an impact. Recommended brands include: Winsor and Newton (Professional Grade), M Graham, Van Gogh, Schminke, Sennelier, and Daniel Smith.
Watercolor paper (9"x12" or 8.5"x11")

Drawing Paper

Blue painters tape or white masking tape
A sketchbook
A pencil
Two brushes - Soft round, with pointed tips - #6 and #12 (or around those sizes)
Container for water

A palette with room to squeeze out each color and good mixing areas to mix color.
