Description

"Walk with Washoe" is a guided series of walking hikes through Washoe County's parks and trails.

Walk #2- MOONLIGHT HIKE Jones Creek Interpretive Trail - Galena Creek Visitor Center
Experience the peacefulness and breath taking beauty of the Galena Canyon, along the Jones Creek Loop Trail. The towering pines, fluttering aspens and calming waters of Jones Creek are sure to put your mind at ease and prepare you to finish your work week on a high note. This 2.3 mile hike is low-medium in intensity, and is an excellent hike for the young, as well as the young at heart. Waterproof shoes/boots are recommended, as there are a couple of small water crossings. As this is a special MOONLIGHT HIKE, flashlights or headlamps are also recommended, as are bug repellant and a light jacket.

The meeting point is the Galena Creek Visitor Center. This hike will depart from the Visitor Center at 7:30pm and will last approximately one hour.
