Description:
This recreational league teaches players the
fundamentals of the game, basic skill sets, and places an emphasis on team work
and having fun. The recreational league will include travel to local towns who
also participate within the Glen W. Shippy League. Good sportsmanship will be
required of all players and coaches at all times.
Coach's Meetings: Week of March 29, 2021
Equipment: All
participants will receive a jersey and baseball cap/visor. Each child will be
responsible for providing their own pants, shoes, and gloves. We will provide
each coach with an equipment bag with batting helmets available, but is it
encouraged that kids come with their own helmets.
Practices: Each
team will have one weekday and one weekend practice until games begin. Once
games begin, each team will practice on weekends. Practices will begin the week
of April 5th, 2021
Games: Games will
start the first week of May. Each team will play 10 regular season games, but
is subject to change based on weather cancellation. Each team will be
guaranteed a game in the end of season tournament, which is played the last
week of June. Playoffs will be held the week of June 28. Championship games
would be held after the Fourth of July.
