- This hike is rated easy, 4 miles, with minimal ft. elevation gain.
- Meet at the trail head by 9 a.m.

- No parking or pass fees required.
- Hike details: A deep-forest experience without the drive. Whipple Creek Park is a 300-acre green oasis in the midst of farmlands to the west of the Clark County Fairgrounds. This hike loops through colossal Douglas fir trees and waist-high sword ferns to provide a primordial experience where you are dwarfed by nature. There are remnants of a grist mill to explore.
10 Essentials:
- Footwear (hiking or trail shoes with good traction-waterproof)
- Illumination (headlamp or flashlight with extra batteries)
- Hydration (at least 2L(660z) of water)
- Nutrition (high protein snacks and lunch)
- Clothing (rain gear & dry-fast layers, hat, gloves, extra socks)
- Safety (whistle, emergency shelter, first aid kit, medications, driver's license, identification, insurance cards, cash/credit card)
- Equipment (backpack, trekking poles, multitool, sitting pad)
- Sun & Bug Protection (hat, sunglasses, bug and sun spray/lotion)
- Personal Hygiene (toilet paper, plastic bag, garden trowel, hand sanitizer)
- Personal Identification (please carry your emergency identification card with you on all hikes-update regularly)
Please note:
- Make sure your contact information is current in the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services registration system.
- Do not begin hiking without the group. Wait at the trailhead
- until the hiking guide has given instructions.
