Description
A Morning of Self-Compassion:
Anchoring Ourselves Before the Holiday Whirlwind
Explore a taste of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) in a
half-day virtual retreat before the holiday season kicks off.
MSC teachings are based on the revolutionary research of self-compassion by Dr. Kristin Neff. Compelling findings from a growing mountain of research studies show that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, increased resilience, lower levels of anxiety and depression, healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships.
The good news is: self-compassion can be learned by anyone - including you.
The three core principles of self-compassion will guide our exploration together:
- Mindfulness: a caring acknowledgement of the stress and struggle we experience.
- Common Humanity: the awareness that all of us struggle sometimes and we are not alone in that struggle.
- Kindness: responding to our struggle and to ourselves as we might respond to a dear friend who is struggling.
Through practicing these three core principles of self-compassion, we learn to meet our struggles with courage, gentleness, skill, resilience, and maybe even some ease occasionally.
No refunds after Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
Teachers: Bob Gillespie, PhD and Emily Hagenmaier, LCSW bring heart, pop culture references, depth, and humor to the MSC curriculum. We hope you will join us for a morning to care for ourselves with authenticity, warmth and compassion. Bob and Emily recently interviewed each other about the impact of self-compassion on their lives. Read their full interview here.
