Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life including the challenges of stress, pain, illness and everyday demands. Established in 1993, this program is one of more than 250 MBSR programs worldwide.

The course includes guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices; gentle stretching, mindful yoga, inquiry and application into experiences of daily living, group dialogue, home assignments and audio recordings.

Lisa Stein

Lisa Stein, M Ed, was first introduced to meditation practice 20 years ago while teaching in a public school in Madison, WI. The practice has supported her in the years of teaching, coaching, and leading in school settings and continues to be part of the work in education up to the present day. She believes working in education requires presence to cultivate and apply an equity mindset. Lisa currently works as a statewide coach for the Department of Public Instruction supporting school district teams to implement and sustain trauma-sensitive social emotional learning and comprehensive school mental health services. She is a registered yoga teacher most recently teaching for the Yoga Accessible For All (YAFA) non-profit program bringing the benefits of yoga to underserved communities that typically experience health and wellness inequities. Lisa lives in Madison, WI with her husband, near her four grown children and six grandchildren.
