Description: 

8u is for girls that are 8 years old or younger as of January 1, 2021. The minimum age for a participant is someone that has turned 7 years old by June 1, 2021. The child's age of January 1, 2021 determines the league they play in. All teams play in the Miami Valley Softball League with Englewood, Huber Heights, Northmont, Piqua, Tipp City, and Vandalia. The 2019 season consisted of Piqua, Tipp City and Troy in the North Division. Englewood, Northmont, Huber Heights, and Vandalia played in the South Division. The goal for the 2021 season is to have the same division break with the potential of playing crossover games during the season. This could change based on the number of teams each community has.

The league is Coach Pitch and players play with an 11 inch ball. Coaches will pitch 6 pitches to each batter. Games for the season will begin in late April/early may. Games will be played in Troy, Piqua, Tipp City, Vandalia, Huber Heights and Englewood. Games could be played every day but Sunday (except for the tournament). A single elimination post season tournament will held June 17-20 in Tipp City. All towns in the league will play in the tournament. All games will be completed by July 4, 2021. Fee includes Dri-fit jersey.

Registrations will be open until the deadline and/or until all spots for teams in each division are filled, whichever comes first. The number of teams per age group is dependent on the number of participants registered and having enough head coaches in place to coach each team.THE SOONER WE HAVE COACHES IN PLACE THE SOONER PRACTICES CAN BEGIN.
