Permaculture is a design system for creating sustainable human habitats using nature as a model. The 72-hour Permaculture Design Certificate course will give you a strong understanding of the permaculture design process and how to apply it to real-world projects. It will also cover important techniques and strategies for permaculture implementation, including regenerative agriculture, forest gardening, soil building, earthworks, water management, urban permaculture, herbal medicine, and much more. Whether you are working in your backyard, farm, community, or city, permaculture will help you design a system that is highly productive, ecologically responsible, and socially equitable for generations to come. Lunch will be provided each day.
This course will meet on the following dates:
Students are permitted to miss no more than 8 hours of course content. If a student misses more than 8 hours of content he/she may finish the course but will not receive a Permaculture Design Certificate. All absences must be approved in advance by course instructors and students will be required to make up any missed content through readings and a written assignment.
