The Community House strives to make all of our programs available to all people, regardless of financial situation. Through generous donations and efforts of family and friends, the J.C.S.F. was has raised nearly $60,000 which is used to allow families the opportunity to participate in recreational and educational activities. 100% of your donation benefits families who are not able to pay all of the fees associated with our programs. The J.C.S.F. has given assistance allowing kids to be champions in our basketball and flag football leagues or to learn in basketball camp, explore their independence on a youth center trip, learn in our computer classes, make friends in our Summer Day Camp and thrive in our After School Achievement Program and the list grows each year. The J.C.S.F. provides families the same chances as all their friends to grow and prosper socially, physically, and developmentally.
To date, 16 families and 45 children have received financial scholarships from this fund. The Community House saw an increase of 20% in requests for scholarship in 2009 from 2008. Without the J.C.S.F., it would not be possible for The Community House to support so many requests for assistance. Over 90% of the donations that support the J.C.S.F. come from or on the day of the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. The J.C.S.F. has been used by families who have been affected by job loss, by divorce, by domestic abuse, by the death of a parent, by homelessness and those who are having difficulty making ends meet who still want to provide the best chance for their children to enjoy and learn what life has to offer.
