The practice of tapping trees to make maple syrup dates back to the 19th Century and first was used by Native Americans. This popular program is back again this year for all ages to enjoy. Join us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 13, at The Historic Daniel Boone Home when staff and volunteers will demonstrate the historic process of turning gallons of liquid sap into edible sweet syrup and discuss how you can make your own syrup at home.
Guests can also learn the modern way of making maple syrup with Vieth Vally Farm. They will be on site selling their delicious syrups and explaining their modern technique and tools.
The program is free and registration is not required.
