Description:
September 26, 2020 marks the 200th anniversary of Daniel Boone’s death. Join the parks department in commemorating the life of one of America’s great frontiersmen. To honor Daniel’s memory, the site will host an event offering demonstrations that represent Daniel and the Boone Family, such as land surveying, black powder shoots, woodworking, fiber making, and more. Meet Daniel and Rebecca Boone and listen to the couple recall tales of their past.
Presentations from renowned Boone scholars Ted Franklin Belue and Ken Kamper will be offered at specified times of the day. Belue is a retired professor from Murray State University and author of books such as "The Hunter’s of Kentucky" and "The Long Hunt". Ken Kamper holds historian positions for the Boone-Duden Historical Society and The Boone Society.
