Description:
**This class is designed for complete beginners**
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to work with wood back in the days before power tools? It is not as labor intensive as you think! This weekend program is designed for those adults who have always wanted to try traditional hand tool woodworking but have no experience. We will spend the weekend working in our historic carpenter’s shop (ca. 1837) learning to use the same types of hand tools that built this nation. Enjoy the fire in the fireplace as we get familiar with handsaws, chisels, joinery planes, bit braces and more. You will put your newly acquired skills to use in a project that can be completed at home. If you have no woodworking experience, but would like a friendly introduction, this weekend is for you! Come make shavings with us!
Tickets are very limited. For more information call the Historic Daniel Boone Home at 636-7908-2005.
