Description: Calling all veterans age 21 and up! Grab your ruck sack and join Ranger Jake Dean for a three mile “march” at dusk from St. Charles Community College to Veterans Tribute Park. After arriving at the park, the group will have the opportunity to purchase a cold beer, reminisce with fellow veterans, and view the Veterans Memorial Plaza featuring engraved panels with the names of St. Charles County soldiers who died in service to our nation since World War I. The Tribute Walk and garden leading up to the memorial showcases interpretive panels covering conflicts from the time St. Charles County was organized in 1812 to present day. Ruck sacks are not required but encouraged. Veterans are welcome to bring any treasured items to share representing their branch of service. Participants should bring a headlamp or flashlight. Those unable to participate in the march are welcome to meet the marchers at the signature lakeside Sammelmann Shelter in the park. Families also are welcome to attend and are encouraged to provide transportation for veterans. This event is free. For more information, email Ranger Dean at JDean@sccmo.org
