You’ll get a dose of Missouri history when you experience an inspirational walk back in time with the nation's best interpreters dressed in period attire at A Visit with Daniel and Rebecca Boone from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, September 25, and from 9a.m.-3p.m., Saturday, November 6, at The Historic Daniel Boone Home, 1868 Highway F in Defiance.
As you tour the historic home where the Boone’s once lived, you'll meet and visit with these famous Missourians portrayed by Colonels Robert and Shirley Pecoraro, National Association for Interpretation Outstanding Interpretive Volunteer Award winners.
Daniel and Rebecca’s life was filled with joy, happiness, hardship, and tragedy, yet they survived and persevered as partners for 56 years. The couple will discuss life on the frontier and Daniel will showcase a collection of original antique weapons and accoutrements from the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War. Don't miss the chance to bring the family to this memorable living history experience to hear about the Boone’s true adventures and see antiques up close and personal.
Admission to the Boone Home is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors ages 60 and up, and $5 for children ages 5–12. Active and retired military and children 4 and under are free! Call the park at 636-798-2005 for more information about guided tours and to purchase a ticket for this event.
