Woodturning: A Short Introduction

Join us for a brief introduction to the magic of wood turning. You’ll learn about the parts and functions of the wood lathe, and a variety of turning tools and their uses. We’ll discuss wood selection, preparation and mounting techniques. We’ll demonstrate spindle and faceplate turning, and we’ll discuss proper sanding & finishing techniques. The class will combine demonstrations with some hands-on experience. Everyone will have a chance to turn and finish a mallet or a French rolling pin.
