This class is an introduction to the fundamentals of laser engraving and cutting techniques. You will receive hands-on experience with the capabilities and limitations of using a CO2 laser cutter, including how various materials can be used. It will also cover the basics of Inkscape, a free/shareware vector graphics program which can be used to create line-art suitable for realizing most designs. A key outcome of this class will be becoming informed of the most essential aspects needed to realize designs with a laser cutter, including potentially submitting your own designs to be cut/engraved by a third-party service provider.
