Go back in time and learn one of the oldest and most accessible photographic processes. Students will learn to make cyanotypes, a 19th-century photographic process that prints in the sun and produces beautiful Prussian blue images. Students will learn about a variety of materials and techniques for making cyanotypes as they make their own prints experimenting with both abstract compositions made from found objects as well as prints from negatives of images made by students. Subjects will include chemical mixing, paper selection, exposure, and toning. Materials are included for students to produce 6 8X10 prints.
