A love letter to drawing, this class will explore all the hidden, intimate, and sometimes romantic aspects to art making in private. Together, we will divest from capitalist modes of thinking surrounding the production of artwork, and turn towards generative practices of meditating and expressing ourselves through making marks. Drawing will become a process instead of a product-- a space for experimentation and play; a space for you and only you; a place for you to find your voice. Through our sketchbooks we will explore the concepts of FLUENCY (multiple iterations or solutions can be explored), ELABORATION (ideas can be embellished), and UNDERSTANDING (thoughts, feelings, and ideas can be worked through).
