About Jim McVickerAt now the midpoint of his career Jim McVicker is known for the convincing sense of atmosphere, light and color in his work. His landscapes and still lifes are both painted from life but feel like entirely different bodies of work sharing though the mysterious sense of 'air' in the space between things. McVicker is also known for his self portraits but the largest body of work is the landscapes all painted from life on both large and small formats. McVicker was a presenter at the 2013 Plein Air Convention and has won many awards for his work including First Place awards in Artist's Magazine annual competition in both the portrait and the still life categories.
