
Sketch Workshop: Finding the Game of the Scene

Description
Learn to identify what makes scenes and sketches work, and how to expand and explore scenic ideas with the greatest dynamism and variety while maintaining unity, focus and integrity. Attendees are asked to bring one original sketch of 5 pages or less with copies for readers.
Prerequisites: Open to all students
About the Instructor: Michael Delaney has been a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater since its inception in 1998 where he has performed, written and directed countless scripted and improvised shows. Current running shows include The Swarm, The Stepfathers and Gravid Water.

Former artistic director and current senior instructor in sketch writing and long form improvisation at UCB NY, adjunct Columbia University film department for comedy writing. As UCB's director in residence Delaney has trained generations of comedians including Bobby Moynihan, Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper, Donald Glover, DC Pierson, Adam Pally, Ben Schwartz, Casey Wilson, Julie Klausner, Katie Dippold, Brett Gelman, Chris Gethard, Zach Woods, Neil Casey, Joe Wengert, Lennon Parham, Jessica St Clair, Maggie Carey, Brett Gellman, Chris Kelly, Marika Sawyer, Tracey Wigfield, Aubrey Plaza.
