Get Riffed with Ever Mainard a workshop for Stand Up Comedians and Storytellers Comedian, Ever Mainard, will lead this four-week workshop called "Get Riffed! Riffing for Stand-Ups and Storytellers." Techniques in this course will give performers the confidence to take a topic and run with it. Participants will use improvisation to find new angles, expand old jokes and connect with the audience. Registration is open to all students, previous experience is always a plus, but not required! Ever Mainard is one of Chicago's top stand-up comedians. Chicago Magazine named her one of the top 100 comics and Gaper's Block credited her as one of the Most Influential Women in Chicago Comedy. She performs regularly at The Beat Kitchen and is a co-producer and host of "The Shit Show." Ever has worked with Maria Bamford, Nick Thune, Greg Berhandt, Bill Dwyer, and many others, and her work has been seen on Jezebel.com, The Apiary, NPR, and The Onion's A.V. Club
Biography:George was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio, and attended The Ohio State University, earning a Master of Science degree in Mathematics. This document now hangs neatly on his wall, requiring dusting only once per month. George is a main-stage alum of The (short-lived) Second City, Cleveland, where he also served as Conservatory instructor. He currently writes, directs, and performs with several Los Angeles troupes including 'The Cartel', iO West's 'Main Stage Sketch Show' and 'POP' company.' SCLA's 'Bingo', 'Edmund Serves Coffee' and 'The Family Funk'. In addition to teaching, coaching, and performing improv and sketch comedy, George has spent much of the last 15 years as a radio DJ and stand-up comic ? opening for the likes of Kathleen Madigan, Frank Caliendo, and The Righteous Brothers. His past corporate improv workshop clients include Nationwide Insurance, Victoria?s Secret, and Columbus State Community College.
Biography:Rebecca is a graduate of the University of the Arts with a degree in musical Theater as well as the Second City Conservatory, IO, and Annoyance Theater. Rebecca is a recent alum of The Second City ETC stage in Chicago and has also performed for Second City on two NCL ships, and traveled the world (including a USO tour to Iraq) with Second City's Touring Company. She is a company member of the musical improv group "Baby Wants Candy" and the all-lady improv sensation "CatNip!" Some of Rebecca's recent credits include The Bed, SuperNews!, In the Motherhood, and I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With.
