Description
Level 3: Stroke Improvement
Ages: 6 years to 15 years
Prerequisites: Successfully pass or be competent in all skills and objectives Super Tot or Level 2. Participants must be able to perform the following skills independently: rhythmic breathing, multiple front and back float combinations, retrieve object from deep water, jump into deep water, introduction to treading water, front and back glide with flutter kicking, catch-up freestyle with side breathing 15-25 yards, whip kick on back 15 yards, elementary backstroke arms 20 yards, backstroke 15-25 yards, plus various combinations of all skills. Participants must be comfortable in deep water.
Objectives: This class is designed to introduce participants to advanced swimming skills and to refine stroke technique; improve the coordination and endurance of freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke and treading water, introduce breaststroke and butterfly, and to increase water safety skills. Skills: Safety concepts, surface dives (feet & head first), sitting and kneeling dives (pools 9 feet or deeper), flutter kicking on side, change direction while swimming, freestyle 25 yards, back glide with flutter kick 25 yards, backstroke 25 yards, tread water, elementary backstroke 25 yards, whip kick on front 25 yards, introduction to breaststroke, dolphin kick 15 yards, butterfly arm coordination, streamline starts, and various combinations of all skills.

It is important to enroll your child in the correct class; necessary transfers may result in the change of class days and times. There are NO REFUNDS.
