Description: 

This class promotes the development of essential early childhood skills like imagination, self-confidence, motor skills, socialization, separation-adjustment process, and the natural acquisition of the Spanish language. Children are exposed to a several types of theme-based projects with engaging activities ranging from art and craft to games, stories, songs, cooking, gardening, science, yoga, puppets, music, math, pre-reading & pre-writing and more! Through the use of language teaching strategies, elaboration of material, and the incorporation of a positive environment among students and teachers, learning Spanish is more efficient, natural, successful and enjoyable for all children.

Children are supported by a Google classroom where they have access to videos, songs, games, and virtual activities. They can also follow Rosita, the classroom puppet pet, allowing them to connect vocabulary to daily routines.

Children must be ready to attend class on their own and be potty trained. Face mask is required. Please bring a healthy snack and lunch, and water. $25 cash material fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class.

The City of Santa Monica continues to place the highest value on the health and safety of our community. Additional safety protocols and procedures such as social distancing and face masks may be implemented as directed by current LA County Department of Public Health Guidelines.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
