Does your body move when you hear the Soundtracks of 'Coco' or ' The Book of Life' or ‘Encanto’? Well then this is the Dance class for you! Ballet folklorico is folk dance from Mexico and Latin America. Your child will learn the Art of Dance as she or he embraces the Mexican and Latin culture. They will learn the various styles and dance techniques from several regions of Mexico. Some folk dances in Mexico and Central America can be traced back to indigenous traditions and ancient cultures. Other dances are derived from the time the Spanish colonized Mexico, and some of the Dances are a fusion of the two cultures.

Please wear comfortable stretchable clothing and tennis shoes (or bring Folklorico shoes if you already have them). Girls, please bring Folklorico skirt.

The City of Santa Monica continues to place the highest value on the health and safety of our community. Additional safety protocols and procedures such as social distancing and face masks may be implemented as directed by current LA County Department of Public Health Guidelines.

PRIORITY ONLINE REGISTRATION for Santa Monica residents begins Wednesday, April 20 at 6 a.m. Non-resident registration begins Wednesday, April 27 at 6 a.m. Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.

REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be emailed to the Community Classes & Camps office at community.classes@santamonica.gov. Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

CANCELLED CLASSES: Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
