Description

In this unique series of workshops, we will explore new techniques with paint and paper. Get ideas for composition, design, color theory, lettering, layering and more! You will create unique and expressive art journaling pages as you learn a multitude of ideas that can be applied to any art form. This is more than just an art journaling class, this is an experience in seeing, thinking, processing and experimenting! Be prepared to get messy, be pushed out of your box, laugh, learn (a lot) and have some fun. Although each class is designed to build upon the others, you can take one class or each of them and learn something new and different in each one. Please email Kelly at EGorey99@sbcglobal.net if you have any questions. Beginners to advanced students welcome.

Bring: a journal, an apron (or wear old clothes you don't mind getting paint on), a selection of favorite collage ephemera (inspiration: http://kellykilmer.blogspot.com/2015/06/being-mindful-curating-your-images-for.html), and a permanent black ink pad (if you have one). Other journaling material and equipment available to share.

Kelly Kilmer has practiced and taught Art Journaling, Bookbinding, Collage, Mixed Media, and Artist's Books throughout the U.S. and beyond for the past eighteen years. Not only do her workshops teach basic art foundations (composition, design, color, etc...) but they also address the freedom and importance of self expression in art. ?There is power and knowledge in the act of creating something with your own hands, made from your own heart and head.?
