Description: 

Advanced Robotics with Lego takes student engineers a step or two beyond the complexity of Lego Robots & Awesome Machines. For example, instead of using one motor and a battery pack for cars and battle tanks, students utilize twin motors to enable rack & pinion steering for cars and skid steering for battle tanks. Motors are also used to construct generators that function as remote controls. Battle trains are more sophisticated, too. In addition to passive weapons, motors are used to power active, controllable weapons. Although not necessary, this class is best suited for students who have experience with Lego motors and Technic parts.

Campers should bring a nut-free snack and a bottle of water. $15 material fee payable to the instructor on the first day of camp.

PRIORITY ONLINE REGISTRATION for Santa Monica residents begins Wednesday, April 20 at 6 a.m. Non-resident registration begins Wednesday, April 27 at 6 a.m. Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.

REFUNDS - Camp refunds will be issued with medical documentation or if requested at least 5 calendar days prior to the first meeting. Refunds will be prorated. A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Requests must be made by email to community.classes@smgov.net. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.and are nonrefundable.

REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.

Makeups will not be offered for days missed by the student. All class dates, times, locations, and instructors are subject to change without notice.
