ClassesWinter 2020|#2300.420
Description
Dr. DoAnn T. Kaneko - a doctor in oriental medicine, licensed acupuncturist, and Grandmaster Shiatsu-Anma therapist - is back again teaching community classes in Santa Monica! It has been a few years since the Shiatsu Massage School of CA sadly closed but now he is partnering with the City of Santa Monica to provide several classes to the community!
Qigong is a form of exercise to generate the chi energy and blood flow to vital organs. Two Qigong styles will be taught; Baduanjin with 8 silk movements that stretch the extremities, spine, and meridians, and Tree Qigong stances, which are gentle but transformational with vigorous abdominal breathing.
Daoyin is a technique to stimulate the vital points and meridians in order to clean the stagnation of the various systems, vitalize the tissues and improve the circulation on a cellular level. For Daoyin, 15 movements that utilize the pressure points and abdominal breath will be taught.
Please bring yoga mat or something to comfortably sit or lie on. Handouts will be supplied, and additional teaching material is available upon request.
