Description

BlocksCAD 3-D Printing taught by BlocksCAD

Learn how to design awesome 3D objects using BlocksCAD, a software program that combines 3D modeling with block-based coding for an easy to use and educational experience. Students will learn to write programs to create their models, practice their 3D geometry skills, learn to use a 3D printer and get two of their designs printed that they can take home.

Weekly Schedule
Week 1: Create a 3D model by adding shapes and moving them around.

Week 2: Make a design with rotated shapes, plus a 3D printer demo.

Weeks 3 & 4: Learn to subtract shapes, and create two new models using all skills learned so far.

Week 5 & 6: The 3D printer will be back one of these weeks as we start printing student designs. Students will start their own creative designs.

Week 7: Finish up the creative design model, and learn how to present their design for the week 8 showcase.

Week 8: Showcase! Students will each present their favorite design, telling what they made and how they made it. The 3D printer will be there. Parents are welcome.

An additional $35 material fee is due to the contractor by the end of the second class. Material fee covers use of laptops and printer. Make check payable to BlocksCAD.

The material fee is due by the end of the second class, and should be paid directly to the contractor. These fees are separate from the registration fee, and financial assistance does not apply to them. They must be received by the second class meeting, or participant will be automatically dropped from class.
