Description

Every day in January, make a commitment to make art! A painting, a song, a photo, a poem, an illustrated word, a postcard, a dance, a drawing, a painted rock, a story, a melody, a video, a needlework, a quilt square, a sculpture or more! Amy Bauer of DreamEco Crafts leads our Fun-a-Day group this year. Join folks around the country who are making January their Fun-A-Day month!

Make it fun and make it small enough that you can keep going with your daily practice no matter what January brings into your life. Weekly check-ins to keep you inspired; bring works in progress or just chat with fellow Fun-A-Dayers on Saturday mornings. We'll have a little exhibit of everyone's work on Saturday, February 11 here at the Camera. Make your commitment at http://ow.ly/2s4r306X6Ny.

Fun-a-Day was started by Nick Lally of the Art Clash Collective in Baltimore in 2004 and debuted in LA in 2014. Now Fun-A-Day is a worldwide phenomenon!

Amy Bauer is an artist, seamstress, educator, and curator. She holds degrees in Design, Fine Arts, and Educational Technology. She attended Arts for LA?s inaugural ACTIVATE Arts Advocacy Leadership program during 2014 and 2015. Her work has been displayed in magazines, newspapers, private and public collections, and websites. In her work, she explores environmental themes, and ties them into an investigation of the likenesses and frictions between her urban life and her folk art aesthetic. Much of her art is meant to deteriorate over time, placing it into the category of memento mori art. She has exhibited her work throughout the US, Canada, and England since 2001.

Camera Obscura Art Lab at 1450 Ocean offers arts, crafts and culture classes year-round. Polish your writing, take a better picture, learn how to make paper, knit, sew, and find a community of artists and movers!
