Description: Explore the foundations and elements of contemporary dance on a virtual platform! Inspired by his time working with cutting-edge companies across the country, classes will include contemporary center warm-ups, excerpts of contemporary repertoire and the occasional video aid. Josh is an award-winning choreographer, and draws on his experiences with companies in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Nashville to inform his teaching.
Classes will be conducted either barefoot or in socks. Dancers should wear form-fitting clothing that allows for full-body movement (leotards, form-fitting athletic pants/shorts) Knee pads are suggested but not required. No tights or baggy clothing, please. This online class will use Zoom platform, so all who register should have reliable internet and Zoom downloaded to access the call. A meeting and access code will be emailed to you prior to the first meeting date. We recommend each participant have access to a device with a working webcam, in order to get the most benefit of this virtual program.
Biography:Mr. Rubietta completed the advanced piano program at Northwestern University. In addition to playing for ballet companies such as ABT, Houston Ballet, and Joffrey, he has been teaching piano since 2003.
