Description: 

The country is so close to the city! Come out and learn to ride at Chaparral Ranch. This introductory course includes three classroom sessions and one basic riding lesson. Topics include safety, horse care, ownership, tack, horse psychology, and riding techniques. Riding participants must weigh 230 pounds or less. A signed Chaparral Ranch waiver must be turned in at the first class.

Notes:

For the safety of participants, instructors and staff, all in-person classes offered through the Santa Clara Parks & Recreation Department will follow the current Santa Clara County Public Health Orders and social distancing protocols. All participants and staff be given a daily health screening and be required to wear face coverings (ages 6 and up) upon arrival and exiting the facility, as well as during class, except when exercising.

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Helmets will be provided. Riding participants must weigh 230 pounds or less. A signed waiver must be turned in at class. Class will be held at Ed Levin County Park, 3100 Calaveras Road, Milpitas.
