Safe Routes to Schools - After School BICYCLING RODEO
Students in grades 3rd thru 5th, come join Safe Routes to School instructors for a Bike Rodeo! A Bike Rodeo is a chalked arrangement of connected streets with roadway features that are free of motorized vehicles. It is a fun space for students to develop their confidence as they navigate streets, intersections, and crosswalks. Students will practice bike skills like starting/stopping, hand signals, navigating obstacles, and obeying the rules of the road.
Students must bring a fitted helmet and bicycle to participate. The rodeo is designed to accommodate varying skill levels.
Be Prepared - Please do this in advance:
• Bicycle Check - Make sure brakes are working, tires are inflated, chain is oiled, seat is set at proper height; bicycle is safe to ride.
Electric bikes are not permitted.
COVID protocols will be enforced.
Rain cancels.
