The field stone picnic shelter backs up to the woodland bottomlands of the Mississippi River and features a beautiful setting for an afternoon's walk, run or ride and better yet a picnic! The adjacent open space provides a great location for large or small group activities. Nearly seven miles meander throughout the park and along the woods and riverbanks. The area also serves as a natural preserve for such creatures as turtles, amphibians, and several species of birds. The true splendor of our areas deciduous urban forest and native plant species can be experienced as you wonder along the trails. Even views of the river boats bring you back to the time of the early settlers in the area. Crosby Farm Park is separated from Hidden Falls Park by the Watergate Marina, but connected by the trail system.
